Technical notes

300 A is the jump-start current and 1,500 A the peak — both are supplier figures. The engine-size guidance assumes a vehicle battery that is discharged rather than failed, and a pack with charge in it. The 22.5 W USB output is reached only with a device and cable that negotiate the supported fast-charge protocols, and wireless output depends on what is feeding the pack.

How to use

  1. Charge it first. Charge over USB-C before first use. The indicator blinks while charging and all three lights hold steady when it's full. Each light is roughly a third of the charge.
  2. Switch it on. Short-press the power button. It switches itself off after 30 minutes with nothing drawing from it.
  3. Pick an output. USB for phones and small devices, the 12 V DC socket for vehicle and camp gear, or dock a BAYU attachment head straight onto the top contacts.
  4. Charge and discharge at once. It will power something while it's being charged. Keep the combined output under 50 W when you do.
  5. Wireless charging. Lay a Qi phone flat and centred on the charging face. Take off thick cases and anything metal — the foreign-object detection will refuse to charge through a coin or a card.
  6. Between attempts. Give the pack a rest between cranking attempts rather than cranking repeatedly.
  7. Long storage. Charge it once every three months — and check it before a trip, not during one.

Safety and care

  • Protection built in. Overcharge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit protection are on the board. Charging protection voltage 12.6V, discharge cut-off voltage 8.5V.
  • Jump starting. Clamps the right way round — red to positive, black to negative — and kept clear of each other. Never jump a frozen, leaking or visibly damaged vehicle battery.
  • Damage. Stop using it if the case is cracked, swollen or has been submerged. Don't open it.
  • Cleaning. Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep the top contacts clean and dry.
  • Warranty. Two years, replacement. If it fails inside that window it's replaced, not repaired.
